so that was maybe a tad negative yesterday then.

today i set about shifting a deadline, and got a kind offer of another task being lifted off my shoulders for a short while. this makes me slightly happier (though my pc crashing with half a dozen unsaved windows open made sure that i didn't go over the top about it). the other good thing is that the board meeting we were going to have tonight has been postponed for ages, so i find myself with a relaxed evening. bloody marvellous.

so anyway, other things. hmm. OUT turns out to be as addictive as ever it was, but also chock full of interesting men, some of whom i am hoping to meet very soon. back in the real world, pride scotia at the weekend brought back many memories of prides passim. mostly the good ones! the new boys and girls organising this year did us all proud.

oh, and my iPod is the best thing since sliced bread. and i'm talking about the organic stuff that they slice specially for you...

nobody said it was easy
it's such a shame for us to part
nobody said it was easy
no-one ever said it would be this hard
oh take me back to the start

well, quite. coldplay, the soundtrack to my job. oh yes, this evening's grumble is work-related, and probably not being assisted by the tunes currently playing. i was off sick for a day this week, and i know it resulted from an actual physical problem but i'm sure it continued because i am stressed to my eyeballs.

i've been through several stages: losing sleep over it; panicking about it; offloading huge amounts of it; flat-refusing to take on any more. a couple of months ago I moved on to deciding it really wasn't that important (which appears to work for everyone else in the office), and then to accepting that the bits i couldn't do, i just couldn't do. but that soon gets chucked out when the other people that are relying on you show up. they have to get done.

so i am pondering exactly what is the received wisdom vis-a-vis a situation in which the impossible is an immediate requirement.

it's funny, i've been blaming these pills for my ulcerated stomach; maybe it's the job! but aren't i supposed to be fifty before i get an ulcer?

nobody said it was easy
no-one ever said it would be so hard

joanie had a baby boy! James Andrew Killian Lebris! 3.77kg and slightly groggy after a long and difficult labour. spoke to daddy this morning, hope to speak to the proud mother soon. i'm over the moon about it.

notwithstanding any of the above: i need a holiday and a good hard shag. and i need an improved way to turn time into money and vice versa.
